sub coil question (not related to impedence)

Quick question guys. Will it hurt to only run 1 coil from a dvc sub? thats it, thanks for any responses. its a 4 ohm dvc if thats important

No, but i don't think I'd recommend it. At least, I'm sure it works, but there are prolly some bad side effects.

If you only use one coil you only have half of the BL product. In addition, Qes/Qts changes to a higher value. If you really must do that you should short the other coil. If you want to get crafty, you could use a resistor when shorting the other coil to adjust Qts.
