Sub Choices

I've got roughly $160 to work with right now, need 2 12's.

I have a Metrik MAB901 1900Watt amp. (950Watts/One Channel @2Ohm.)

Just wondering what some good budget subs that would match with that amp would be.

I've already got a ported box for the subs, as well.

Thanks for any help.

if you could save up like $100 more you could get 2- SSA DCONs.

this box u have, do you know any specs on it?

I don't.

And I won't be able to get anymore money anytime soon. /=

Any ideas for my current price range?

Sorry, didn't see it in the first post.

I'd look for a couple dual 2ohm 12's. The options are endless but look for ones that are around 3-400rms each. Sonicelectronics.com has great prices and you can really narrow down the search field for exactly what you need.

Does that 160 include a prefab box or will you be building your own?

Another part you missed

I've got a ported box already.

So I should look for subs around 3-400 RMS each, even if the amp puts out 950(or so it says, lol)?

It's bedtime, forgive me. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

That was a rough estimate assuming the amp does under rated power. But in that range you can still pick up some decent subs that if you decide to upgrade the amp in the future, will still be of good quality.

W/o knowing the specs on the ported enclosure its difficult to pick out subs for it.

It's all good, and yeah, I know.

I'm not looking for anyything long term tbh, so anything that will last a few months is good xD

That would be a function of the harness, not the HU, I think. Have you looked into a Maestro or iData interface? i would check with crutchfield...

thanks DB, that definitely helps swallowing a $300 price tag 😂 these would essentially be running midbass for me too
