Sub choice help

Trying ot decide on what to run for a sub combo in my Magnum...

I'm not looking to make huge SPL, but for reference, 2-ported 10W1's on a 500/1 don't quite cut it...Thats what I've got in another vehicle due to space limitations.

2-10W6v2's sealed

2-10w6v2's ported

2-12W6v2's sealed

Maximum available box voume is 1.2cf/sub

I also used to have a pair of sealed 12" Eclipse aluminum's on a 1000rms. I would be happy with output comparable to that.

Please advise....Each sub will be getting a minimum of 500rms each.

I'd kind of like to run the 10's sealed (easier to fit the smaller box), but I'm concerned they won't have enough output for my liking.

forget jl audio imo.... i would honestly tell you, and from experience one of the best drivers i have heard is the si mag 15 on around 1000 w rms,,,, low end was great and was clean and crisp.

Dude, I've got 1.2 cf/sub absolute MAX...There will be two seperate enclosures...One on each side of the car, flushed into a cubbie hole...I DON'T HAVE ROOM FOR A 15...

There are a ton of people out there who hate JL Audio because their stuff is overpriced. Regardless of the price they make some of the best sounding subs that you can buy. But thats not to say that there are not better deals out there. If you buy a 12" Mag you will spend more than you would buying a 12" JLW6 and SQ will be a toss up. Go to TCSounds.com and look into their TC2000. You can get a 12" for about $75 less than a W6 and thats the only sub I can think of in your price range that sounds better than the W6. It should also perform perfectly in a 1.2cf sealed enclosure. If you send one TC2000 about 1000-1400rms the output will be very suitable for you. I know I'll probably get flamed for recommending JL over the Fi boner, but I wouldn't even consider Fi unless you are more concerned with SPL.

I already have a line on the Jl subs...I just need some advice on whther to run them sealed or ported...Sealed would be easier to flush into the space available, but I'm worried I won't have enough output...10w6v2 sealed, 10w6v2 ported or 12W6v2 Sealed? What do you think?
