Ok i have a sub par amp and really cheap 2 8inch subs right now. I plan to possibly keep the amp i have and get 1 alpine type r 10 or 12 inch sub to replace my 2 8's. The amp i have is right here http://www.dealtime.com/xPF-Crunch-Noxx-PZN2250

I am very new to sub installation and need to know what type r to get and how i should go about hooking up my amp to it. I need to know about dual voice coil and how many ohms to get. I dont think my amp can even do 2 ohms and if i was to get dual coil would i just hook up 1 channel per connection or would i be better of with single coil and bridging the connections on the amp to just 1 on the sub.

Also what would be a good box to get for a gmc sierra truck, i dont need custom to bend around the cab just need an angle box i think.

Well, that site says it can do 150 watts x2 at 4 ohms. I can't seem to find any site that says that it is 2 ohm capable...do you know if it is? If it is 2 ohm capable, that means that you can bridge it and hook up a 4 ohm load. Each channel would see 2 ohms.

I have to find out if it is 2 ohm capable before I give you advice for subs...

DVC means it has 2 voice coils. SVC means it has a single voice coil. Here's a simple list of what you can do with dual voice coil subs:

Dual 1 ohm - .5 ohms in parallel, 2 ohms in series

Dual 2 ohm - 1 ohm in parallel, 4 ohms in series

Dual 4 ohm - 2 ohms in parallel, 8 ohms in series

So, see, what sub you get depends on what your amp can handle
