Sub and amp matchup advice

Hey guys, so in my other thread I spoke about how I'm trying to do a concealed setup with an 8" sub that will be placed within a box that will fit into my security console on my TJ as well as an amp that I will be mounting underneath my seat. A lot of people recommended the PPI 650.1i due to it's small size and power, but it isn't easy finding an inexpensive, quality sub that takes anywhere near 650 RMS at 2ohms. I live in Canada so my selection is somewhat limited. I use Crutchfield Canada a lot because of their great prices and free shipping but I also use Amazon for certain purchases because I get free prime as a student. Any advice? This is the only sub that was even close Kicker 40CWR84 CompR 8" Dual 4 Ohm Subwoofer at Crutchfield.ca

I appreciate any suggestions as well.

I may even do this setup

Alpine MRV-M250

IN STOCK

CAD $179.99

Kicker 40CWD84

IN STOCK

CAD $129.99

HST:

CAD $41.34

OES:

CAD $8.00

Total:

CAD $359.32 Delivered to door.

The alpine amp is on sale as well from $219 making it cheaper. If I don't need the extra power there really isn't a point to having it with the PPI

Having a 650W amp hooked up to a single 300w sub wouldn't destroy the sub?
Yes, just don't set the gain as high, you can run the 650W amp at 300W. This gets the desired power to the sub without straining the amp, and in turn, the amp will last longer provided it isn't subject to high amounts of humidity.

Alright well, between the PPI i650.1 and the Alpine MRV-M250 which do you think would be best? I'd prefer the Alpine only because I more familiar with the company.

And then for the subs I could either go for the CompD 40CWD84 or the CompR 40CWR84.

I'd rather avoid an expensive amp. Even though it is on sale, it will bring more attention to somebody wanting to steal it. Also significantly more expensive than the PPI. And to top it off, it would be difficult to mount that under my seat since all of the controls are on top.

ppi amp will do fine. The other guy just has a grudge against budget amps that he's never used before.

I won't touch new PPI personally but I think you can do better than that alpine. Price a JBL MS-A500 on Amazon.
Gotta remember that I'm reverse mounting it to the bottom of my seat. So the top of the amp will be up against the bottom to allow the amp to still breathe from the bottom.

I've heard nothing but good things on the i650.1

I just need an inexpensive amp to power an 8" sub inside of a center console. I'm not looking to melt faces, just to provide some clearer sound while I'm driving with the Jeep top off. I'm going to order the ppi, I can get it for $104 taxes in when I go to the states at the end of the month for a business meeting. I just need to decide between those two subs now.
