I'm wondering how bad of an idea this is. I am considering putting my sub amp under my rear seat. I have a xenon 600.1 pushing 2 IDQ 10's. Apparently this amp is supposed to stay very cool, plus I have my subs wired to 4ohms with the gains set very conservativly. Since the rear seat mounts flush I know that circulation will be bad, but I'm wondering if you think It'll be too hot. I guess the only way to know for sure is to mount it and find out, but I'm hoping someone with experience can tell me whether or not I should even bother trying. Right now the amp is attatched to my back seat but it covers my passthrough. I haven't found a very practical way of mounting it anywhere else in my trunk. THanks

Does the amp have an internal fan? If not do you have room to hook up an external one? Will it have any room to breath when mounted under the rear seat? I would think the worst that could happen is it'll get too hot and go into protect until it cools down...

It has two internal fans. Everything that I have read and experienced with this amp so far is that it doesn't get hot. What I'm thinking though is that the fans wont mean a thing if they are circulationg the same hot air that they just blew out. I think you're probably right that the worst thing that can happen is that it'll go into protect mode. If this happens even once I'll take it out and put it back in the trunk. I don't know how much room it'll have, but I wont mount it there if the heatsink ends up in contact with the seat foam.
