Stupid, Stupid question

I HAVE a 2 channel us acoustic right now, it doesnt have high pass that's the issue

I really want to get an amp made for highs mids man //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif this is aggrivatin the shit outta me

Honestly, will it be better to just get the x-over?

You don't even need it. You can use the highpass on your radio //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

The amp will do fine for a comp set.

I thoguht so too, but my friend put me in a friggin frenzy talkin all that crap about the amp not giving out the right frequencies because of no HPF...

All right so I'm having this all hooked up Wednesday, I guess I'll just let them do it, they're actually kinda smart, for once lol

I'm just too scared to mess it up

Yeah man it's a 2chan with no HPF, freaked me out too...that's why I'm rantin and ravin here

So I just turn the lpf on 460(which is as high as it goes...) do I put the selector on flat, lowpass, or amp? I know jack shiat about amplifiers when it gets down to it...also, should I turn the bass boost all the way down?...or does that matter at all(lol)?

Just askin for a little more here

*Note - this amp is (literally) 2x as big as my 1000d Memphis

set it to flat. that means it is off. atleast that's i how i think it works on them amps. been awhile since i owned a us acoustics. no on the bass boost

flat means what, the filter is off?

that's what i believe it means on those amps. do you have a manual? as long as you set the hpf on the deck to around 80 hz. you'll be fine. your passive xovers that come with the comp set blocks out the frequencies to the tweeter so you have no worries there.

Okay good - what are the odds the local shop knows enough about them to figure all this out? :)
Maybe I can talk to them before I let them start fiddle farting around with my stuff eh?

i almost positive all you have to is set it too flat. i believe that's how my 4065 was. just set yoour hp to around 80 hz. or so and you are good to go.

Don't all comp sets come with passive crossovers anyway? I would just set the amp to flat, and if the mids distort at loud volumes I'd think about getting another crossover to block off the lower frequencies. Otherwise man, I don't see why you sweatin this so much, it will play fine. I'd be a little conservative with the gains though, cause you are gonna give them double the power they are rated at.

Yes they come with a set of passive x-overs I'm just tryin to make sure I aint gnona mess nothin up, and that flat is where it needs tobe set at :)

So if I set it at flat(assuming it kills the lpf) do I need to worry about the bass boost and lpf at all?(on the amp)
