stripped rear seat bolts !

have any of you encountered stripped rear seat bolts from the multiple times of removing/installing your seats? Practically all my rear seat bolts are stripped now. I can't get a solid ground because the bolts AND the bolt holes are stripped. What's the easiest and best way to fix this?

seatbelt bolts are not even a good spot to ground things //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

weld new bolts over the holes. and use nuts?

Well...

You could try a gator grip socket.

Or cutting the head off the bolt and using a tap/die set to rethread the hole.

Or a bolt extractor to get the garbage bolt out. Maybe vice grips clamped down on the head and give a twist?

Or if you're really short on $$$ you could use smaller bolts that go through the hole with a washer/nut on the underside of the car. If you go that route get grade 8 hardened stuff as that's what the factory bolts are.

I had the same problem on one of the bolts to my passenger's seat. I had INTENDED to purchase a tap that was one size larger than the original size (same thread size) and re-thread the hole. Seems like it would have been a good solution. Never got around to it before I got rid of the car.

I've used a seat belt bolt for ground for several years. Voltage drop was as close to zero as it could get.
