Street A setup

I am looking into doing a nice street A setup.

Here is what I am looking at trying:

3 L78s

2 Image Dynamics ID Max 10s, run IB

DD9512

I have 1500 watts RMS.

I was going to go with a modified setup, but street A sounds like a better class for me.

i dunno how well the IDmaxs would do IB, but the 9512 looks like your best bet in my opinion

and im not gonna say it wont work, cause it could...but, id maybe tinker with a ported box before i messed with a infinite baffle set-up

Although the 3 8s have a little more cone area, the 12 is the way to go? I don't think I could compete with that guy who got 157, but mid 140s don't sound too off. Is anyone running just one?

yea 157.2 in street A, to be competitive, i think u will need more power. DD would be the way to go and a very good batt upfront. remember car is off. get some efficient amps also and some subs that can take the power

two 10s will give you the most cone area, if you didnt already kno that, then the 3 8s...

if it was me i would probly get two 10inch type r's and L7's since they are only gonna be like 300 or so for the pair

I was going with the assumption that a 8 L7 had more cone area than a traditional 8.

That seems like the best bet. Now it is more of a decision of L7 vs. DD9510. I only have the 1500 watts. I would hate to trade up because I would end up selling at a loss.

your gonna need alot more power... but 2 l7 10's wouldnt be a bad bet in this situation.

Alot of power isnt always the best way to go. Somebody correct me if im wrong but didnt the winner @ finals for street b only have two opti2000D?

That's what my friend said. He competes in street c. He only hits in the mid 140s, but thinks technique can move him into the 150s.

Looking more and more into the L7's. Although I am in a trunk car...I believe 140s is possible, problem is it would probably be a one note wonder. I could always build a "competition" box for specific use and a regular box...
