Street A setup

if u are lookin to compete seriously, then u are gonna need alot more power than that, car is off and u only will have 1 batt in street A. get a sub that will handle the power and does sumthin wit it. L7s,9510s would be somewhere to look. get power, thats wha dbdrag is, if u dont have the power, u might as well go home, cuz they dont mess around, if u doin it for fun, then 1500w will be fine for ya.

Since my amp can't be bridged ( I have a us amps merlin d2), either I "can't play" or am going to have to go bigger. If I went with another amp, that would put me in street B, but even more competition. I looked into the DD 9510 and 3510. Can't really understand the difference besides the price. I assume it is construction some how.

This is a b*tch trying to compete and all.

I think if you strapped you move into street B, according to the rules, it says bridged but am I a newbie and not sure if there is a difference.

Alot of power isnt always the best way to go. Somebody correct me if im wrong but didnt the winner @ finals for street b only have two opti2000D?
he had 4-2000ds and 2 dd9912s he did a 153.7. good score but alot of people could of done better maybe he could of to.. just this past weekend chad hines did a 154.3 in street b 2-9512s and 2 dd z1s. 4 amps will run of one battery. so if people actually get off their behinds and actually try at finals im guessing for example chad hines should gain from .5-1db with 2 more amps. but renember not all termlabs read the same mic could of been of .7 that day. who knows.

So even if I bought another Merlin and moved up to two 9512s, I still wouldn't have much of a chance.
DONT EVER think like that. theirs no chance if you dont try. if you try at least you know you try. and if you try hard enough you never know what just may happen. plus in street a you can only run 1-12 or 2-10s or 3-8s 2 strappable or 1 unstrabpable mono block ampflieir 1 battery street b 2-12s or 3-10s or 4-8s 4 strappable mono or 2 non strappable. 1 battery and street c 4-12s or 6-10s or 8-8s and 8 strappable amplifiers of 4 non strappble mono amplifier 2 batterys

batterys have to be in the stock location and max 800 cubic inches. this is the rules for 2005 rules may change a little for 2006 probably not much. nothing including equipment except head unit or source units may be above the lowest window.

I know I shouldn't get discouraged, but it looks like it will be quite a road, ya know.

I figure my best chance will be going with what was originally suggested, the two L7s and keep the amp I have now. I believe I could build two boxes, one for daily and one for competing to have the best chance.

The possible street A setup would be two 10" L7s or two 35/9510, paired with this US AMPS merlin d2.

Possible street B setup would be two 12" L7s or two 35/9512 each with a US AMPS.

I realize I am gonna have to shell out the funds to compete, really. I would just rather not trash any of what I have now, you know.

I am staying with a friend in middle TN. I think the world finals were here not too long ago.
oh man... MECA all the way! There is a show coming up in crossville, i believe, on the 31st, check it out on the event schedule!

Your in definitely right smack in the middle of MECA land //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

By far the most beginner friendly org, its pretty much a run what ya brung setup... any equipment can be competitive, it just comes down to install.

sorry not trying to hijake the tread but lets say if you were to enter, Stock 2 you can use (2) 12" subs with (2) amps (2) caps and an extra single battery(off the OEM electrical system)? did i read thats right?
