strapping amps

Using two identical amps 1000w each can I put 1 amp on 1 sub and the other amp on the other sub so each sub has its own 1000w amp. Or do I have to strap the amps together as one amp to get 2000w and then split the power to the subs?
either way would be fine IMO. Only strapping would probably be alittle easier unless you have all the tools you need to gain match them accurately

I would assume if subs are sharing the enclosure then gain matching would be extremely important? If there not in the same enclosure then gain matching wouldnt be as important?

How do you go about sharing the rca signal, can you just use a y adapter?

You'd need an external bridging module for those amps (not strappable)...

Or just run them separate and match gains.

Can you strap any two identical amps? I'm possibly gonna be working with two memphis mc16-1000d, can I strap them without a memphis bridging module?
