i want to run 2 L7 15's with 4 kx1200.1's, but those amps most power is at 1 ohm. is it possible to wire 2 kx1200s to 1 ohm each on the same sub or do i need to get 2 zx1500 amps? stupid question but i havent figured it out.
Yes, you can strap two KX1200.1's into a 2ohm load. For this, you would need the D4 version of the L7's and wire the coils in parallel for a final 2ohm load. This would in effect cause each amp to "see" a 1ohm load and output their 1ohm power, or a total of 2400w for the two amps.
If you have L7's with dual 2ohm voice coils...this would not work for you. You would need the D4 voice coil configuration.
However, I think 2400w+ would be a little much for the L7 for daily driving.
ya dude, too much power..........if anything set each kicker on each 2ohm voice coil and tune them accordingly, then in time get a 2nd L7 and run them 1 ohm per sub //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
for the price of 2 L7's you could pick up a solox..strap your 4 1200.1's to that. if you get a 10 or 12, youll be runnin it at its peak. if you get an 18(alittle more $$)...youll be runnin it right at the rms
