Stop me if I am wrong!

Screws it its! Do the plans look ok? I did some search and that came up for 1 Type R 12" I think!

make sure you pre-drill. do you have clamps or is someone gonna hold the pieces together for you? what i used to do when i used screws was get 2 drills, and then my cordless which doesn't have a lot of balls would be used for the pilot hole, then i get the electric one to drive the screws in. also you could use gorrilla glue if your cuts aren't totally accurate.

clamps + glue;)
Not everybody has big enough clamps, or the //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/greedy.gif.5a53e6246569d7ab79867170f3b06629.gif to go buy as many as necessary.

But almost everybody has a drill and some drill bits //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
