how to measure spare tire well

if I made a fiberglass mold of my spare tire well, and then built a box around it, how would I figure out the cu. ft. of the tire well to add to the box, someone please help

could allways fill it with somthing (like packing peanuts) then measure how much it took to fill it.

This is how I calculated my FG enclosure I just did. Except I used styro pellets. Peanuts will probably be easier to use.

get some packing peanuts and dump them in the enclosure until its full

dump those peanuts into an empty box

measure your cubic feet

wow filling it with water is the dumbest idea ive ever herd....my trunk has a cd player right there....would be dumb as hell to put water back there unless there was a direct siphon to let the water out

you may think it is the dumbest idea ever, but its also the most accurate way you will measure it. No matter what else you put in there, there will be little spaces of air, and may not get in to all areas completely. Trust me, ive done it a couple of times.

I was also going to say fill it with water. Most accurate way to get the measuremnt. although the peanuts might be a lot easier once you take them out and place them back into a box and measure it they will all settle different making a small change or a huge change...all depends on t he way they settle.

Get some graph paper, make yourself a scale, then use Calculus.

if you have a shop vac or something of the sorts getting water out shouldn't be that hard... or like Doitle said, do some **** math
