stock HU powering subs?

i just bought some subs and an amp to power them...

i wanted to know if i need a digital headunit to make those subs work or is the stock HU sufficient enough (it has a -5, +5 bass control)

well you just need to be able to hook up rca's to the hu to the amp. question is does the factory setup you have, have rca outputs? if not you will need either something like a jl audio clean sweep or high to low lvl converters.
