Stock alternator handle this?

So i just bought my sisters cavalier for a daily driver. I don't drive my mustang in the winter. Im wanting to put a decent system in it. I have 2 12 inch infinity reference's in the mustang and there pretty loud at 750rms give or take. But Im thinking of doubling that for the cavalier. Im looking at putting in two alpine type r 12's in it. probably run between 1200-1600rms to them total. What do you think i need to do for the car to be able to handle that kind of load. Upgrade battery, add a battery, upgrade alternator?

addition info: car is a 99 cavalier, 2.2l engine. i think the stock alternator is like 60-70 amps.

Stock alt will NOT handle load...at least for very long. I would look at getting at least a 150A alt. Don't necessarily have to upgrade the front batt but wouldn't hurt. Would probably help more to add a second one in the trunk but ONLY if you upgrade your alternator. Adding another batt to the stock alt's load will only kill it faster. I'd also recommend isolating the batteries from each other.

x2. My stock alternator is rated for over twice what yours is, OP, and it really didn't like a 1000w load. I really don't think something as small as 60-70A is going to like up to 1600w worth of draw. Like T said - batteries can help, but they're only capable of covering for so much. An alternator is what's really going to get you through having a beefy system.

Thanks for some reason it wouldn't post and i did two threads and i got help in the other one. I actuatlly have a 105 amp alternator. But Ive decided to just play it save and run around 600-750 rms. Upgrade my hood battery and it should be alright.

or get better subs in a good enclosure that gets loud off low power.

Yea, i'm thinking about building a ported enclosure depending on what subwoofer i get and that'll probably get pretty loud for a daily driver.
