Uh, you can tell from the pic? Come on. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif According to the specs its 80mil thick with a 15mil aluminum constraining layer. Over all product thickness does not tell us density (or material type/properties), but if that alum layer spec is correct, its far thicker than anything SS has that Im aware of.looks thin
Well one thing I'm just a little nervous about weight on my tailgate.Uh, you can tell from the pic? That ad definitely says 15mil alum layer. But your number sounds much more believable (and I suspect either you or Don actually measured it).The cmopany that makes Road Kill for Stinger is decent. The product is actually 70 mils thick with a 4 mil foil.
Not 15 mils
The 6 mil, high temper foil on Damplifier Pro is 50% thicker, and a good deal stronger too.
Plus the Damplifier Pro is 80 mils thick.

True, but that is an ad for a vendorANTThat ad definitely says 15mil alum layer. But your number sounds much more believable (and I suspect either you or Don actually measured it).
Price?I'm more thinking price wise.. is it comparable to regular damplifier?
It ends up being the same because they're both 75 shipped.Price?A 20 sq foot pack of Damplifier is $59.98
In terms of performance, it will be close
Damplifier is designed to outperform most of the better competitors out there while weighing less.
It does a good job against most quality damping mats.
Even though Damplifier is our entry level material, the foil is still just as thick as the foil on Damplifier Pro; 6 mils thick.
Since the foil does so much of the damping performance, it does not require as much adhesive to do its job.

Spray-on deadeners tend to be better mass loaders, due to ease of total coverage, but the mats are definitely a superior product in almost every other way (performance-wise). Spray-ons do not have a constraining layer, for example.get liquid spray dampener i have found cascade way better than any peel and stick dampener. it goes everywhere were the p & s cant too. you can do layers and make it thick where needed...
