Stetsom. Its under rated far more than the JL. Its not JL to begin with. Only problem with Stetsom is some people have no clue and blow their amps.

You think JL is over priced you should see the prices on Stetsoms amps. I was looking at a 1k5d and I think it was somewhere in the ballpark of $700 for 1500@1.

The Vulcan would destroy the JL. The Vulcan does 1500@2@12.6v. 1710@2@13.8v.

I would take the JL if i was to be buying an amp i planned on owning for along time, the company has been around longer, higher resale value other then on the internet. Unless there is a large price diff between the two i would pick JL, its not ment to be a SPL only setup if your looking at that kind of power. Either amp will get loud.

The JL 1000/1 is like $650(ebay) for 1000@1. If I had to choose I'd pay $50 more for an extra 500 watts.

The Stetsom is a tiny little amp, but I've just heard too many bad things about them.

A friend of mine was running a 4k2D on a pair of HDC3s at 4 ohms, and his electrical never dipped below 14v, thanks to his 2 extra batts and 250A alt. The gains were set correctly by myself using tones and a DMM. Anyways, it just got stuck in protect one day for no apparent reason.

And with JL, you're paying double what you should for a 1kw amp, even at eGay prices.

I'd just go with a more traditional 1500w amp- something like a SAZ-1500D or even a RF T1500BD
