id love to see the tests against other 7-8k amps. where could you find a sampson for cheaper, also i need a hookup on cactus sounds, because im going to buy a bit of them, of the 7k's, and if ic ant get them cheap enough stetsoms for the price, you cannot beat. i would love to run the sampsons though but the price makes me not want to even consider them.

i can get a 7k from cactus for about 1600-1700 and i like their prodcuts, i love the sampsons, just the look of them. but the stetsoms have the vote with the price and their rated at 13.8. thats pretty good

cactus aint cheap its a toss up between the stetsom and cs 5kw for the rex

You would need 10kw to be up 3dB from 5kw even in theory. You should be up about 1.2 dB ideally going from 5kw to 7kw... so where is the complaint about gaining 0.9 dB in the real world? Seems like a very solid gain that fits the power increase darn near on the dot.

I agree and was actually going to say essentially the same thing.

I came up with a "theoretical" difference of 1.46db, just a smidge higher than 1.2db....but nevertheless I completely agree that only being ~.5db "in the real world" behind the theoretical difference, at those power levels, is quite a significant increase.

they are bad arse,i got 2 of them on 4 12 mt's,154.9,and as far as maxxsonics fixing amps in a timley manner,they dont,they have had a cyclops of our store for repair going on 6 months now,and another point like a couple already said .9 db from 5k to 7k is dam good,i trust alan and why not he is the loudest guy in the world,or his builds is.
