Needs recommendations.. For budget mono amp that puts out about 1200 @ 2 ohms

You guys have any good suggestions on budget amps that do that kind of power for around 200? I dont care at all about the name. I just want something that does around rated power. Thanks

spend a little more and get a refurbished kicker kx1200.1. it does rated power and then some.

close as i could come.....1200@2ohms usually don't come cheap...especially in todays world of 1 ohm stable amps

Thanks for this info, i have been researching all the prices on ebay and what not to see for any used ones and that MA HK1998 can be had for about 150 shipped, brand new? Was that a typo by you or Is that a decent little amp? You think it would put out close to rated power? It is about 100 bucks cheaper than all the others.

You can get a hifonics 1606d for around 200 that does around that...if not that then im certain the 2006d model does 1200 and you can get one of those for about 250-300$

I've heard mixed reviews on the MA HK line. Some say they do close to rated power, others say their quite over-rated. Hopefully someone with personal expereience can chime in an give us their thoughts. For the money, it might not be a bad deal at all.
