Just wondering if anyone has ever had this happen. I took my car yesterday to get my A/C compressor replaced and freon installed, I got a call this morning @ 8am saying I needed to come to the shop. When I got there the cops were there, and the owner tells me my car had been broken into. No broken windows, factory alarm wires were cut, EVERYTHING was gone...Double DIN Kenwood HU, MD3D, yellow top, beloved '05 XXX w/ enlcosure, and they even cut my 2 runs of 0ga Stinger HPM from the battery, pulled back my interior trim, and removed it from the car. 3 cars were broken into, including an employee's. All the cars were inside the fenced in area on the side of the shop.

The shop is pretty new, but they have done quite a bit of work on my car lately. They just put up the "not liable for theft or vandalism" signs, and had some fresh printed ones in their office.

Just wondering what you guys think I should do, or what I can do...I'm out at least 2-3K. The cops told me, that they actually recover lots of stolen equipment within a few days. I find that VERY hard to believe, so I'm not expecting a phone call w/ good news

sounds like a employee told one of his friends, man you would not believe this sick *** car that comes into my shop to get work done he has this and this and this and then friend says oh really?

and then they plan something

and how would they known u have a yellow top and how many thieves take a heavy *** battery i mean come on thats obvious plus they had to have to tools as well to get it out of the tray

yep thats why they broke into the employes car as well i mean what did they take in the other cars
It could be a cover up. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

"Steal" stuff from an employee's car so it doesn't look like an inside job, then that employee will get their shit back later on once the dust settles.

Man that sux.....I remember watching some court show where a guys car was damaged while it was at a shop..He took the shop owner to small claims court..I've been racking my brain as to what the outcome was.....I believe in order to get them to pay, they would have had to shown some negligence.....I'd try looking on google for attorney forums...There are a few out there where you can post your question and they'll reply with their opinion (unless of course you personally know an atty who you could just call and talk to)....Let us know how it goes...

I blame the employee who's car got jacked! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Good luck finding your stuff, hope you have insurance
