Staticy Front Channels

My HU seems to have lost the front channels. When i hook the speaker directly to the HU, all I get is static, however, the rear channels work fine. The only thing I can think went wrong is that I had no front mids for a few months and just left bare wire in the doors (while still connected to the deck). Any ideas?

Did you properly terminate the bare wires bouncing around your doors or just let them dangle free to short out on each other and the door itself?

No, I just let them dangle, what kind of damage to the HU am I looking at?
