all constructed out or 3/4 mdf

this was with some wood i had layin around so i just drew some shit up real quick.

didnt measure out the cube it would be cause i was bored

but it is around 9" or so high

about 7 "wide

and about 2 feet long

im putting a pair of rockford fosgate t1 5 1/2" coaxes in it.

if they sound good im just gonna leave it.

if not then i will throw in the diamond audio d651i midbasses in as well.

pics tommorrow.

i didnt take pics of all the steps

only pic i got is the box put together minus the side panels.

and i just have to cut out the hole.

I don't recommend using a pair. Tweeters will have comb filtering issues when listening off axis (cancellation of certain frequencies). If you can just use one coax or maybe even find a way to stack them vertically, it would be better. Or, disable one of the tweeters and add resistors to pad the woofer output. Well, maybe I am over reacting a bit, as some people aren't bothered by comb filtering issues but sometimes it can really be bad even for a casual listener.

It is unfortunate that the horizontal layout has become popularized as the norm for a center channel speaker because ideally the center channel should be as similar as possible to the left and right speakers.

ya.

right now i just want somthing.

can be anythng.

dont really care, but i can always swap out speakers.

as i made each panel 8" tall or wide depending on how you look at it so i can upgrade up to 7" in th future if needed.

One tweeter and two mids should work. Cross over as low as possible. If you can get a tweeter that will cross at around 1500-2000hz with a 4th order slope then comb filtering should be greatly minimized. You still want to place the mids as close to each other as possible (center to center spacing).
