Stalk control's not working

I had a beat 650 hooked up to my stalk control's with a connects2 stk188 and beat patch lead and it worked great.

Now have a jvc kw-r520 with a connects 2 CTJVC2LEAD patch lead and the stalk control's will not work. Any idea why not?

everything is all wired correct the blue/yellow wire on the jvc head unit is connected to the brown wire on the jvc patch lead.

I have tried resetting the connects2 stk188 but that makes no difference.
