Should be fine with 600rms, i would be more worried about it failing mechanically more than anything, watch your subsonic especially ported...

what do you mean by failing mechanically, also I heard about subsonic note, what does this mean, also will i have to watch for them listening to rock/techno and in a sealed box, thank you

You should be fine sealed...
There are two ways a sub can die: Thermally meaning the voice coil becomes too hot from too much power and/or clipped power, as well as mechanically, meaning the sub moves too much causing damage to the soft parts (surround, spider, etc).

In a sealed box to spec you should be fine with 600rms, just make sure to watch your gains...

A subsonic filter simply protects the woofer by filtering out lower notes, below 20-25 hz usually, that your ear cant hear too well anyway...

the rl-i8 will handle 600wrms pretty easily, ported or sealed. in a ported app, you'll want the subsonic set jsut below port tuning to help prevent over excursion.

if you need 8s, the rl-i is your only choice from soundsplinter. if you want to move up to 12s, the rl-p is an awesome choice.

how do you set subsonics??, sorry I'm kinda a noob when it comes to enclosures, but I think I'm wither going to go with 2 8" Rli's or a single 12" rlp, thank you for the help

thanks for the link, also, I am thinking about getting a single 8 and putting it on a sundown sae1000D getting 600rms at 2ohms, then later I can add another rli and get the full 1000rms, do that sound like a good idea?? thank you
