SQ to SPL ratio...where does your interest lie?

Hello all,

I was just wondering where everyone on these forums interests and goals were in car audio. The best way to determine this is to choose which ratio of SQ to SPL ratio best describes your system performance or what your goal is to sound like.

This is a guide to the poll.

SQ / SPL

90 / 10 - pure sound quality with ability to get kinda loud.

70 / 30 - wanting good sound quality but also wanting it loud.

50 / 50 - they both mean just as much as the other

30 / 70 - wanting it loud as hell even at the expense of clarity

0 / 100 - going for the absolute loudest you can achieve

I personally am a 90/10 person myself. I'm not where I want to be yet but I'm not made of money so it will take a while to get better components.

My actual system right now is right around 50/50....maybe 55/45 SPL/SQ, but that's it. i mean, i switch out boxes and it's a whole different story, w/ my competition box in...take a guess....0/100 yeah. But daily i'm in the middle. peace

its important to me to have both equal... when referring to general overall audio. this way you can attempt to get the best of both worlds

Some days it's 100/0 SQ/SPL.

Other days it's 0/100 SQ/SPL.

I think I'm set up for ~ 80/20 SQ/SPL right now.

For me it all depends on the music I am listening to, but mainly 50/50. Loud is good for rap and techno but it can't sound like ****.
