My front stage sounds great and keeps up with my subs..And I have a fairly flat response from 30-60hz..

So I am about 1/2 way to SQ.

Call on me. That's how much i have. I'm trying to be an SQ nerd, but it's harder than i thought to get my stage where it should be. I also browse/troll diyma.

edit: my non-audio friends think that just because i have a sub it must wang. They bring their Rap Cds to me to demo them. They are usually dissapointed compared to others' big bass. I just laugh.

I only have one sub with 500rms to it. I like being able to hear the music and not just bass. Or maybe I need to uprgrade my front stage. :shrug:

i'm running an sq oriented setup. I say oriented becuz anyone who has heard a REAL sq setup would laugh at mine. But my system is super clean and very natural sounding, but has the balls to get loud when necessary. BTW, i'm only running 500w to my sub and using one amp for everything with no rear fill.

the guy that did my box plans says it will extend into the upper 20 hz range, with emphasis in the low 40's and play flat from there up. should sound pretty nice all around at normal output, and still beat down when i want it to.

i was really surprised though actually, its going in a 98 4 door explorer, and the 18 is going to fire to the passenger side with the port firing back.

Plain and simple, SQ is an aquired taste. I personally am not a fan of true sq, i can't do it. I need more bass. I do like the concept of a really well focused frontstage however. I have soundsplinter rl-p 18 with an rf 30001bd (once i get the amp, on its way //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif) but I'm not going to be bumping it loud and hard. I like to have headroom and this is beyond plenty. I got tired of hardcore bass. What i do like is that i can crank it up and get super loud and super low and have some nice awe factor, but daily wise, i like a good frontstage where it seems someone is right in front of you singing, and some bass that tickles your back and fills up some of that emptyness.

I just bought DLS amps, but unfortunately they didnt suit my tastes. Great amps, but geared into pure SQ IMO. I'm sure down the line its what i would want, but just not now
