SQ deck, opinions needed

looking for a nice SQ deck for anywhere from $200-400. Must play mp3s, must have 3pr pre-outs (pref 4+V), id pref a 24 bit DAC, i REALLY REALLY freaking want a pause button on the face of the deck (or at least on the remote or something), id like one that reads scratched cds well (thatd be nice), i dont really care too much about eq, time alignment, xover, and all that other stuff. just as long as its got at least a 3 band eq. and it MUST have adjustable treble and bass.

i was looking at a cd8445, but apparently the pause button doesnt work on mp3 cds (which is really detering me). pioneer doesnt really have anything to offer. I just got this alpine 9855 only to find out that Alpines quality really DID decline. Ive heard mix opionions on kenwood, so id like some input there. and ive heard good things about clarion, but there prices are completely insane! Their $700 model only has a 2 band eq for christ's sake! so please throw me some input. thanx guys.

those pioneers dont have pause buttons. so i think id rather take an eclipse over them. but i wanna see what other think about all the other brands b4 my final descision. thanx for the input.

You bought the wrong Alpine...

Try a 9835.

i myself am still wanting one of these

for all that i heard so far Alpines 9813, 9815, 9835, etc... do not compare to the SQ of the older 7998, 7878 for example... i have a 9815 and i love it but im looking for better sq
