Yes this is a slightly beaten subject--but I want to get some good opinions from people that have actually listened to their share of good musical sounding subs or have even owned a few. I am planning on putting together a simple, single 10" or 12" sub setup on a budget. I would like to keep it around $300 box included assuming I already have wiring. I did some searching and came up with a list of expensive and rare subs that I have never heard of before nor listened to. To be honest, the only types of subs I have ever heard in person are the ones you would find at most larger electronic stores as well as a couple different Memphis subs. I don't want to buy anything used unless I know the person or it is local to my city.

Here is what I am expecting to get with my purchase...

-Something accurate (to keep up with fast kick drums and beats)

-Something musical

-Something that plays a good variety of low and mid frequencies

-Something that won't drown out a set of PG 6.5" components on 75w RMS

-I am not as concerned about loud SPL or SQL...good quality music is what I am after.

Here are my choices so far

Let me know what you guys think...

Ok, perhaps I will toss the 10" aura into the mix of options. What advantages would the NS10 have on the IDQ12 and 12" RWE??? I owned a 12" MTX T8000 when I was in high school and liked the range of notes it hit.

Ok. I guess the box I linked isn't the best match. I guess I am really looking for an opinion between the three subs listed for my listening tastes. If you guys had to chose between the NS10, RWE 12 and IDQ12 what would it be and why?

I wouldn't mess with the v2s since I don't think you can get a warranty with them anymore.

Look at arc audio subs for a nice budget minded woofer that will be very accurate.

Updated my amp choice. I have been speaking with Peter Kulicki about some sub choices and right now it sounds like we are leaning towards two 8" subs in a custom box. Don't know what exactly he has in mind for a box but he is most likely going to do the blue prints for me. Its either between a single 10" sub or two 8" subs. I am pretty sure this will be my top candidate for amplifier...

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_9795_Phoenix+Gold+Ryval+V8001.html PG Ryval V8001. I want to keep my amp choice at or below $150 and this seems like the best amp to do it with putting out 600W x 1 @ 4 ohm and 800W x 1 @2 ohm.
