SQ&SPL SE vs SD2.5 vs SSD

i just realized all the subs have an S in the title, ironic... anyways

looking for SQ and SPL comparison between the 3, but mostely SQ

SPL i have a feeling the SD2.5 is the loudest because lets face it, AQ is good at that. the SSD would be a close second due to the power difference(and ability to run flatwound coil for more power) and the SE would be last as far as SPL is concerned

SQ im guessing the exact reverse, SE would be #1 SSD #2 and SD2.5 #3

my main question is i just want reviews on the SQ of the 3 subs mentioned(and if you can include your frontstage so i know how serious you are about SQ i'd greatly appreciate it lol), im tryin to get the best of both worlds (SQ and SPL) but i think most people are. i was originally stuck on 2 MJ18's sealed but i just don't want to go sealed even if it is for 2 18s (unless someone convinces me otherwise)

also if you happen to have termlab numbers for any combination of sizes of SE's SSD's SD2.5's (as well as MJ18M) I would love to know what your hitting and at what freqency.

Owned all three subs . To start off ... AQ , like you said owns the other two subs in overall output although it does sound very nice doing so . The ssd's get darn loud themselves ,2nd to the AQ's . They sound great in both sealed and ported applications but with sealed the sub is a bit more "pronounced" . SE's are very simular to the ssd's but the ssd does have bit of an edge on the SE, both spl and SQ IMO . If your looking for SQ and nice output Id got with the SSD in a sealed application . Also my front stage(s) consisted of Rainbow Germaniums, Alpine Type X , Currently running Pioneer PRS comps .

wow thats the kind of response everyone wishes they could get lol

ok so we basically tossed the SE out of the picture, SSD and SD2.5... both in ported enclosures which has better SQ of the 2. i do like loud don't get me wrong but i listen to many different genres of music from rap to country to metal to old school rock, so quick beats and transients are very important, but need to ability to get loud in the event that i am listening to rap.

btw my front stage will consist of mli 6.5 midbass, rs100 midrange and nd28 tweet, going with a clarion 785 headunit so i can do 3way active.

Keep in mind that you won't have the same install or vehicle and that just because he has experience with all three subs does not mean that you will share in his experiences or even come to the same conclusions.

Hmm , pretty close one there . The SD2.5c calls for higher tuning(36-40), where as the ssd calls for right around 33HZ , give or take a few . It comes down to personal preference really . Both will deliver what you want but I have to say the ssd is just a tad bit more musical then the sd2.5c . Nice front stage BTW

Why dont you buy my MINT SSA ICON 12"... the "Perfect blend of SQ and SPL."
i would actually LOVE 2 icons, but too expensive, if im looking at 12's the SD2.5's are 140 and the ssd are 190(a little pricey but used i could manage it)
