Sporadic No Sound

Just hooked up a Pioneer 680MP and 2 MB coax and 2 MB comp. Tested everything and it was working well, but in the past few days the sound sometimes just cuts out for no reason. I'lll be driving and suddently the sound just dies. The HU keeps playing, but there is no sound. Doesn't look to be a short, so I'm thinking bad HU or a power issue. Any ideas?

If all four speakers are cutting out at the same time, it is likely a problem in the head unit. Is it possible the amp is overheating?

The car is a Grand Cherokee 97. I don't have any amps installed right now. It's just the HU and speakers. I am about to install 2 amps and a sub, but wanted to resolve this first. All the speakers cut out at the same time, no static or buzzing. Otherwise the sound is really good. I've noticed that they cut out or don't work in the first place when the car is first started after not being used for a while. Then after a while of driving, they usually come back on. I've tried reseting the HU and turning it off, turning the car off; doesn't really have much of an affect on it.

Ok, I think I found the answer. I realized that the sound cuts when I roll my window all the way down. So basically the back of the front left comp speaker is touching the metal window frame inside the door. Why does this cause all the speakers to cut out though? Could I stick something in between the frame and speaker to eliminate the contact?
