Splices in RCA's

I recently had my A/C fixed and my old alarm taken out three days after I installed my amp and sub. My equipment was working fine until I got my truck back. My amp gets power but the subs aren't giving any noise. I looked under my dash only to find my RCA's and my remote turn on cable spliced. The only thing I can think of is that the mechanics cut the cables on accident, thinking they were cables from my alarm, and spliced them back together. Is this my problem? I've heard that splices are "no-no's".

if nothing else is messed up with your wiring id say thats probably the reason could be wrong but thats the most likely culprit.

also splicing is a bad thing because when the wire gets cut you lose all the shielding you had to block interference.
