I think its hilarious the kids who think they are car audio gurus because they know about internet based brands you cant buy in stores or on sites. A speaker is a speaker. If it works good and I can afford it, Im going to run that ish.
W7s are some fucking nice subs. Only reason people dont run then in huge systems is because they cost too much for what they are.

IMO a W7 will hold its own against many other very high end subs out there.

dude, you gotta remember.. a W713.5 is going to get destroyed by MOST 15" subs on here...More-less 18's, and even some 12's, and some 10's in SPL (wow, thats about everything) if it was a 15" sub, I'd say it would put up a BETTER fight vs. other 15's...the output is compared to other 12" subs for the most part

whoever said "prove it" that they arent that great in SPL..... how about prove that they are!! nobody has numbers on them for a reason

bottom line...... the W7 aint $1200 good.... NOT EVEN CLOSE!!! not 700 good, not 400 good... It's JL, its a different design, it looks different... and 1/2 people that hear em don't even like it.. W6 FTW

Please disprove me if I'm wrong but this 13w7 is rated for 1500 RMS.

And During JL's testing of the driver, the power handling was up to 2800 RMS. After that heat > sub.

Hmm considering you can get a almost mint 13W7 for $350 shipped

I'd say its pretty much a freakin deal

the w7 isn't built for spl usage, obviously. i don't think that jl intended them to put up "big numbers" or they would have built them in 15/18's as well, and made them rebuildable. the patents and everything on them might be useful to some, but not so much for other people. idk why people talk shit about them, because they're loud, and sound good doing it. they're not spl machines, but they really aren't bad. overpriced yes, worse than dd or fi or cheaper internet brands, no. they're just two different things.

news to me... funny... you can get a 15" BTL fully loaded for 350 as well... only that BTL didnt lose OVER 1/2 its value....or better yet, an 18" AQHDC3 WITH alum coils for about that much NEW!

it is a good car comparison... its like charging 200K for a ferrari, and putting a v6, 300HP engine in it... yea its still kinda fast, can beat other mainstream cars, but for what you pay, you're getting F-ed
