A TL is a pressure sensor....this Scoche thing measures noise. If you dont believe me....do this yell at a TL and see what it does...notta. Yell at the boomstick and it will give you a reading. Hell The other day I was in walmart and I did a 110 by just thumping the fawking thing. Comparing a Term-lab to a 20 dollar POS is an insult.

The "wal-mart thing" is a tool and all tools have tolerances. Even though this tool doesn't have the tolerances as a TL does not mean it isn't a tool. The question in this thread is "how accurate are they" once we establish that then we can make plans on how to uses the tool based on the established tolerances.

Although most people haven't thought about one thing. We would need to test a few of them to see how the tollerances fluctuate between all that are tested. If they all read 2-3db higher or lower (all of them exactly the same) then this thing would be a great tool to have (If you have a set variable like +3db over tl. then you could simply get your reading on this thing (using mine as an example) 129.9

and - the +3 would have an accurate high of 126.9. but till we have a large test group we can only estimate or guess.
