Maybe so but i would just rather pay for the fine and get it over with because i have to find the place and take time off from school to do it. Its just a big hassel to deal with because the cop didn't take a look over the ticket and i don't know why i didn't look at it.ive seen a couple tickets get tossed out because of wrong information, just show up to court it will take about 10 minutes to walk up to the judge, say he put everything on there wrong, and he will most likely throw it out.
Yea i take ownership of speeding and of course the ticket as well. I don't blame him one bit but he was careless and not making sure that everything was correct on his end.kudos to you for owning up to braking the law and not blaming the cop. Im curious though, why he would ask you for your SSN?
I know that but i put myself in that person's shoe and i'll be hella pissed if it would have happened to me. That person is young as well because of the date of birth so i would rather not let them have a record for something stupid like this. From my understanding your a totally different person from on the ticket. So I saw **** it forget about it all.
Yea but the place i'm sure it is a good 30 mins away and then i have to get up early and to find the court house.I would say call and see. Or wait it out personally i have had numerous speeding tickets in mass and ct. Just for a couple mistakes on a ticket it will not make a differnce. but that is not a LITTLE mistake. X not guilty and send it in. either way if you or the other person get sent the court date in the mail it will be dismissed.
EDIT: for a speeding ticket you will be in the courthouse all of 10 mins you go in with the trooper and the DA and they read the evidence against you, you state your excuse haha and they give you their desicion
no one else will get in trouble... they don't own that car and it wasn't stolen so they can say they have no connections with the owner and they didn't drive itYea but the place i'm sure it is a good 30 mins away and then i have to get up early and to find the court house.
I have no excuse for speeding but i just want to get the information correct because i don't want to mess with anybody else personal stuff like this.
No. He didn't ask me to sign it. He simply gave it to me and said do i have any questions for him and that was it.Did you sign the ticket? I would call the agency the Officer works for and get in contact with him. Leave a brief voicemail for the citing officer about the issue (make sure to include the ticket #, date/time, what you were cited for, your number, etc). Just keep checking up on the courthouse to see what kind of information shows up on the citation.
I'm not getting a lawyer for something that only cost $155 and having to pay the lawyer more to getting out of something that is clearly my fault. So he gave you a ticket so now you have someone elses SSN, Address, Name and Info.
What a way for a cop to provide for identity theft. He fails at being a officer of the law. You can easily get out of that ticket because of that. Call a lawyer.
