Rims: universal 5 lugs. How do you figure out the vehicles it fits

I know they give a size range but do they fit EVERY size in that range. Like the ones in question I think are 4.5 to 5.5 inches. but there are only 10 holes so I would think they would only fit two different sizes. Obviously I don't know a lot about rims. Just a friend of mine said he would sale me some 22's for my mountaineer for cheap. Coming off his 84 monte Which I believe is a 4.75 bolt pattern 5 lug. just help shed some light here. Just not sure how 10 holes can fit 4.5 4.75 5 5.25 and 5.5 5 lug patterns. please somebody that knows a lot about rims help me out here

you should have 5x4.5, yes his is 5x4.75, those are the most 2 common found in unilug wheels , it usaully says on the back of the wheel what it is, try to put one on.

your mountaineer is probably 5 on 4.5 so if they fit on his monte carlo at 5 on 4.75 they most likely wont fit on yours. you are also going to have to watch out for the offset of the rim, otherwise it might sit too far in and rub on the frame. your best bet is to put them on your car and make sure nothing rubs before you buy them.

I was a mechanic for several years and i cant tell you how many times i heard from customers, "the guy i bought them from told me they would fit"

saw a guy (crackhead) buy some 22s for his p.o.s. denali, they were 5 lug (denali was 6 lug).

He couldn't believe they didnt fit cause the guy said they would lol

Yeah this guy is really cool. I have done some work for him. He for sure would let me try it out. I hope they fit. The rims are nice rims. They are 5 spoke with needles pointing in from the rim. 22's for around 400 bucks with tires

**** thats cheap. Im gonna get some 22s this summer. the 20s just arent cutting it
