speakers work with radio but not cd player

installed a cd player in a 1993 suburban. The rear door speakers seems to be tied in with the speakers in the very back up top. At first the rear door speakers would not play until i connected the blue antenna wire,then they come on. But when I put in a cd,they dont play but the speakers up top in the back plays. what seems to be wrong,cant figure it out.please help!!!

are you using the blue wire or blue with a white stripe?

one may be a power antenna wire and the white stripe the amp turn on.

Im using the solid bluewire for the antenna,the blue/white strip is for my remote for my amps. Just strange that they play with the radio but not when i put a cd in. And....the speakers are running of the h/u. Not connected to an amp at this time

So the rear door speakers only play with the antenna wire hooked up and they don't play ever with the cd player? The far rear speakers always play with or without the antenna wire hooked up on both CD and radio?

This is very odd. I would double check every wire. It sounds like something is miswired and might mess up the HU and/or speakers. The stock radio worked fine?

What is the power antenna lead connected to?

Does your 'Burban have an electric antenna or is that lead connected to something else?

Hopefully Prowler got the solution. Told me to run the remote wire vs. the solid blue(antenna) wire. I will check when i get home.Thanks guys

I'm betting (hoping) that's it.

Connecting the wrong wire, since both of them are blue, is a really common mistake for both novices and "veterans" alike.

And it's what makes the best sense going by the description of what's happening with your truck. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The upside is that it's easy to remedy and doesn't cost a thing outside of a few minutes labor.
