kenwood x791 remote on question

i'm a little confused by the wording in the manual, but i'm not sure which wire to use as my remote on for my amps. there is a power control wire (blue/white) and a external amp control wire (pink/black). which one do i use?

I have the same exact HU and I never used that pink wire.

The pink/black wire is only used if you are using a Kenwood eXcelon amplifier which features Kenwood's proprietaty B.M.S. (Bass Management System) controls.

If you had a so-equipped amp there is a separate input terminal aside from the usual power, ground, and remote activation inputs specifically for that pink/black wire which would allow you to control various functions of the amp directly from the headunit.

If you do not have such an amp (they only had them for a couple of model years and then upgraded the system to a better method entirely) then you'll not ever need that pink/black wire. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Don't know, I think for a kenwood amp. I never used it either when I had it.
