Speakers with stock head unit?? opinions please

u can run any speaker from a head unit, but it may not sound so great...with either of those, get an amp and yes you can hook an amp to any hu...if there is no rca out on the hu then get a line out converter (LOC)

always look at rms (continuous) ratings and try to match amp to speakers. make sure you get the rms at the correct resistance(ohm)

Either of those amps will work but the MRP-F450 will allow you to go louder and cleaner.

the f450 is def the better option for the speakers you listed...and yes you should need a small install kit. for that wattage, an 8 gauge kit will suffice.

i would say that at this level, almost anything would work. yes that will work, but i would only use it for this setup and if you ever upgrade or add another amp, you will need a better kit.

it really depends on what u plan on doing in the future...if you are going to put a sub in and run 1000 watts or more(ballpark), then get a 2 gauge kit....if u want to do alot, then get 1/0 gauge power and a distribution block, and then you will be able to upgrade easily later on.

gonna have to prolly start a new thread for the ipod adapter, i have no clue about those, because i have never wanted one or done the research.

actually this will be about it. she is pretty happy with how it sounds now, but im not so this should more than make her happy.
Now i just need to find a Ipod adapter and im done.

Without going to a aftermarket head unit you are left with dealer options or some aftermaket kits.

From what I have read the Harmon Kardon multimedia managers are the best. but if it can't connect to your HU directly (which it cant to all of them) then you are left with FM transmitter which just plain sucks... If your upgrading your stereo with decent speakers and a amp and then use a fm transmitter with an ipod... well... then your an idiot lol.
