Speakers dont fit

Hi, I bought some speakers that I knew wouldnt fit in my car. They are 6.5" and my car has stock 4". I figured I'd do a little bit of cutting, drill a few holes and problem solved but it turns out they are also too deep to fit in. And I don't mean half an inch, I'm looking at more like an inch and a half too deep after leaving extra space behind the speaker. How would I fix this problem? Do I just cut some wood using a template and a jigsaw and then attach it to the doorframe to stick out 1 1/2''? Thanks for any help.

you will most likely have to cut speaker rings yes. and probably trim the inside of the door panel. etc.
