I installed my system several years ago. Recently, it started to cut out at high volume. I thought that one of the amplifiers was going bad. All the amp fuses were good. While troubleshooting I noticed that the fuse holder in the trunk had melted. The fuse and the connection were still good, so I ruled out a short. The system was drawing around 115 amps. After doing some research, I decided to upgrade the wiring form 4 ga to 2ga and install ANL fuses. One at the battery and a ANL fused distribution block. So far, everything seems to be doing well. Do you think that the power wire gauge was the problem, or should I keep an eye on the amps?
