speakers buzzing or humming

My pioneer 6X8's were pulsing and had no sound after i recently amped them to a rockford 150X2 amp. My head unit is a Pioneer premier deh-p55omp. I adjusted the crossover to hp and turned the gain up and now some sound comes out but it's mostly overtaken by a loud hum or buzz, what now?

Getting the obvious out of the way, lower the gain. From the sound of it, your amp has had it.

Did the amp ever work since you installed it?

Check your wires.

It sounds like an amp problem. Might be a cheap fix or good paper weight.

got it at a pawn shop, they showed me it working in the shop, so i don't know what's up. They had it powering subs though, i'm doing speakers...

That's a mono 1ch amp used for subs. You don't want to use this for speakers. Bring it back.

it has two channels though, mine does

it's not 2 channels if it is a 3001 it is 1 channel with 2 sets of Speaker terminal inputs.

They are wired together internally in Parallel.

I hear if you wire speakers that way you can open a vortex to another dimension.

hmmmmmm, so what's the purpose of two sets of speaker inputs? is it so u can bridge the power?

Easier to connect up the wires if you have 2 sets of wires (4 wires) coming from the subs, you dont have to cram them onto 2 terminals.

if a sub is dual voice coil (DVC) then it will have two sets of positive and negative, making four wires.
