i am run'n two jl 12w6v2s and i have just finished a new enclose and i was wanting to reverse on of the subs to show off the magnet a lil bit. how would i wire up the sub to the amp for that

um correct me if im wrong but i take it you would wire it regularly like it would be mounted in the box. but i have also heard to switch the +'s and -'s around on the sub. thats my 2 cents.

u wire the regular one normal and u reverse the polarity on the inverted one.

Yep, reverse the inverted one or they will be cancelling out each other

That is correct. Just run the + from the amp to the - on the inverted sub, and vice versa.

No it will not hurt the sub to do it, and no you don't have to switch the output on the headunit.

All it changes is the direction the speaker cone will move. so the inverted one will move down when the other one moves up and since the one is inverted they will both move up at the same time. If you would have them both normally installed and you would switch one speakers polarity they would both move in opposite direction which will will cause the sound waves comming from both speakers to cancel each other out which will bring down your sound volume (even cancelled out completely when your sitting in just the right spot, no matter how lout you crank up the volume) This is the only reason why you have to carefully check the speakers polarity when hooking up a system inversed polarity will not cause any harm to the speaker

Huh?

I think you're trying to make it harder than it is. When you invert the sub, just switch the wires around that connect to the sub.
