The guides say I should be running an 8 gauge to 10gauge for 1500rms to the subs, but I know for a fact that my amp (nor subs) will take more than one 8 gauge wire in the speaker terminals (when I need to split it out to 4). I'm running dvc4ohm's down to 1ohm, so parallel all the way down. If I fabricated up a "speaker wire distro block", would that work? I can get some copper and I'm sure I can fabricate something up. just wondering how I'm "supposed" to do this.

Use the screw splice things. Where it screws it all together.

Well, there's my problem, I need to split the positive coming in the box 4 ways. Unless I made a distro block or something like that, I'm not going to fit more than one 8 gauge in each terminal on the sub.

In other words, how should I "split" the wire into four? Just solder them together and heatshrink or what?

well you dont want to have 1 8 gauge wire splitting into four, use like a 4 guage and split that, theres a 4 in and 4 8s out distro blocks.

how are you wiring the subs? You don't need 8 gauge all the way through, because the current has to split somewhere.

It's a type of splicer that looks like a cone.

it has threads on the inside, and you insert all the wires you want put together and then screw the piece and it screws the wires into each other. I use it for the 8 awg inside my box to turn 4 8 awgs into 2 8 awgs for the amp.

Dual 4's on each sub, down to one ohm.

1200rms/4=300rms

So 8 gauge to box, and like 10-12 for each coil should be fine once it splits right?

I tested SPL output from 16 gauge to 8 gauge speaker wire and didnt gain a thing, also never had a problem with that wire getting hot either, and that was with 4kw

Thanks for the input, but due to past experiences (well, friends past experiences), I'll never go the lazy route again. In other words, I'd rather be safe than sorry.
