Speaker wire gauge

Ok I think I already know teh answer to this but wanna give others a shot. Think it would be ok to use the stock speaker wires in my CRX to go to a pair of comps hooked to a monitor 4.70, app 140 w to each side? I have larger gauge wire but damm it is hard to run new wire in a CRX. Was thinking about running some 12 or 16 gauge wire to the stock speaker wire in teh dash and not having to worry about running new wire thru the doors. Bad idea?

Should be alright with the stock wire, but if you have time or you get bored id run the new wire.

stock wire is either 20 or 22awg. picken small for compss. Just run the 16awg and be done.

The calculator is pretty cool. According to it, teh stock wire will be ok. But I still agree with johnecon. i just can't figure out how to get the wire thru the door.

I just did my Mustang. Fish a piece of metal wire through the door and rubber tube that connects the door to the body. Find a way to grab the metal wire and tape the speaker wire to it and pull on it. I didn't think I would be able to do it but I did. Took a while but it is done and I feel a lot better than with the stock wire.
