Speaker Wire Gauge Help

Hello,

Before I finish getting everything I need for my install i need to settle on speaker wire size. I have a Mustang and therefor I don't see the runs being any longer than 12-15ft at most. I only have one amp, an RF 25 to Life Power1000 and it will be connected to the following speakers:

Hertz HSK165

Hertz HCX165

Kicker CVT8

RE XXX 12" DVC 2ohm

I was all set to buy a 100' spool of KnuKonceptz Karma SS 18 Gauge Twisted pair speaker wire to run to everything except the sub(I planned on getting a few feet of 12 gauge for that). Would that wire be sufficient, or should I just run everything in 12 guage? I don't think they have the Karma SS wire in 14 Gauge, that's why I can't get that as planned. Thanks for the input.

if price or room is an issue get the 18 gauge and it will be more than fine. but if ya aint got no issues then bigger is better in this case.

I usually run 14 for normal speakers and 12 for subs...but they don't have this type in 14 gauge and the 12 gauge spool is twice as much. So are you guys saying 16 would be ok for what I'm doing?

16 gauge will be fine for your highs. I would use 12 gauge for the sub.

Thanks for the answers guys. So it seems like i'll be fine running my mids and highs with 16 gauge...knukonceptz customer support said the same thing, but I wanted to check with you guys first. Thanks for all of the responses!
