Speaker Whistling

Hey, I just hooked up my amp and sub. And everything sounds good but when i turn on the car the speaker will start to make a whistling sound. And when i go it will start to make a higher pitch sound like the motor. I am wondering whats the problem? I am using the car battery for my 12v source. Could it be the wire are not thick enough? Because it works fine when the car is not on.

Engine noise, check ur ground...

Alright i will check my ground. I had my ground going to the negative part on the battery..

Could this happen if the wire is too thin?

check your headunit ground. Don't use the stock ground wire.. often its too poor

back to topic... getting better ground for my headunit usually make the whine go away. That was the case until i added an epic-160 in my dash. Now i'm getting the whine back... every amps are grounded to the rear batt neg terminal with the shortest wire possible

Yeah when i accel it whines with the accel.

I am going to reground my amp and make sure my RCA and power cord are not by each other.

do the headunit ground first. In all the instal i did, it help/kill the alty whine most of the time.

Well i grounded my amp and moved the RCA from the power cord.. That help out alittle but i still get the whistling sound when i have the radio volume on low. So i am thinking the wires are too thin.. Could that be the problem?
