speaker position

I am in the process of making some fiberglass door panels. Do I need the speakers I am going to use in the install to position the speakers, or can I use any speaker to get the position that they need to be in to sound the best? i am using a 8" componet, but can I use a 6.5 or 5.25 to find position?

You need to use the speakers you will be installing. Different speakers on/off axis performance will affect the aiming
