speaker popping...?

ok im in the middle of checking out all the connections ect... redid the speaker connection so far and still does it... so i figure i'd make a post and see if you ppl have any advice while i try to figure this out...

only my right passenger side speaker will pop when the music hits a certain volume... granted its pretty loud before it does it... but i've ran these speakers a lot harder with no issues for a long time... and the voice coil reading is still spot on.

it still sounds fine at lower volumes... and higher ones too if it wasnt for that popping sound.. it sounds more electrical than mechanical as well...

so any suggestions on what to check besides the obvious would be appreciated

see the problem with the overpowering thing...

as i said i ran these harder with no problems for months...

i actually took the speakers out the other day just to make sure they were still in good shape and just check my connections and this is what happens lol... i didnt mess with the amp(s) at all or anything... and i dont think the ground was disturbed.. but ill check it..

and i think its too loud to be the tinsel slap.. its a very noticable pop

and yet you seem surprised that now its having problems...maybe you shouldnt of ran it so hard ;-)

eh my speakers had tinsel slap... and it was very noticable. a slight adjustment of my gain fixed it.

MY 1300th POST WOOT

well when i say i ran them harder... it was still within reason... and truthfully this speaker was actually lower than the other... because of how i had the balance set.. if any speaker should of had problems it should be the other one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

switch the speakers and see if it still happens.

yea im gonna go do that now... it almost sounds like an eletrical arc really is the best thing i can compare it too

another thing i read in another post i should check is...

i removed the speaker rings and since everything was fine before i did that... i might not of put em back on the same axis as i did before (my car has weird stock speaker triangle things) but i think the speaker terminals might now be close enough to arc to my chassias...

eating food right now... and i doubt htats it.. but hopefully..
