speaker fitting problem

i have a 1997 Chevy Blazer with two 6.5" speakers in the back and two 6.5" speakers in the front. i'm looking to replace my front speakers with Alpine Type-R Components...but theres a problem...Alpines website says that they are 6.5" and/or 6 3/4" speakers and when i put my car in Crutchfields speaker fitting guide they say they wont fit...should i trust Crutchfields fitting guide??

It's probably because they're too deep. Make sure the depth doesn't go in too far.

make a spacer outta mdf and that should help out, rip apart ur door n see if u can add a 3/4" mdf spacer or even 1"

i went ahead and took the door panel off and it looks like i'll have enuff clearance after all but just incase i dont...can u go into a little more detail about this mdf spacer thing?

ill try to explain best as i can, if not ill do some searching for u, just let me know if it makes sense or not

k without a spacer u jus screw the speaker onto the door, say ur window wont close needs the speaker out 1/2".

then u would need 1/2' mdf

make a circle like O (after u trace the speaker size onto the wood) so that u can screw ur speaker to this

then u can have like a little lip, so theres 3/4" more than the speaker diamter, then screw it to the door

desi daru, im actually looking into getting the Alpine SPR-176A 6.5" Components....how do you like your 5 1/4" type R components?? I'm Also looking into getting the Alpine SPR-174A 6.5" Coaxials also.....how do you like your type R 6X9"s?? i already know them type-R 12"s pound....i got two also

i love my 5.25" comps they whale, rated at 40w rms i sending em prob close to 60 if not more heh, i have heard the 5x7's in shops but not the 6x9s, those ill b putting in wen im not lazy lol

my 5.25" dont distort even at full volume, but gotta turn the trebble down a bit at 100% lol, there loud, clean, clear, again this is wat i think of the sound take it into consideration but still listen to them

well im a alpine fan so they'll probably be good enuff for me.....i live in memphis so the only products most car audio shops carry are memphis car audio stuff and i dont like there stuff

circuit city is the only place i can listen to alpine at and they only carry the cheap models except for the type r subs....have u gotten your type r subs yet?

nah there sittin in my cuz's house, n i gotta take a ferry to get there, so hes approx 3-4hrs away

but wen they was in his car they pounded like crazy thas y im grabbin em off him

yea mine are about to shake my rear view mirror off i need some dynamat real bad....it feels like my blazer is rattling apart
